お世話になります。

今回、Web アプリの開発環境を ubuntu-6.10 で構築する必要が出来ました。ところがハードディスクが認識されません。

/dev を覗いたところ /dev/hdc として起動 CD-ROM が認識されていますが、ハードディスクは見当たりません。

ショップ製の BTO なので診断プログラムがついているのですが、実行したところ問題は見つかりませんでした。

構成情報は以下の通りです。
　購入ショップ：DOS PARA
　マシン： Prime Slim Knight VM S03
　CPU：INTEL CeleronD 331 Tray
　Mother：ASUS P5VD2-VM
　HDD：HITACHI HDS721680PLA380 (SATA2 80GB)

CD からのブートは出来て ubuntu は起動できていて、ネットワークも見れます。

わたしはハードディスクさえ認識させることができればインストールできると思っていますが、どなたかお知恵を拝借できませんか？

ひさしぶりの Linux で困っています。
急を要する件なのでなにとぞ宜しくお願いします。

なので同じ対策をしてみては？

マザーボードの BIOS レヴェルでは HD が認識できているのに　JMicron という IDE RAID BIOS で認識に失敗しているように見受けられます。

きょうはもう帰宅しますが、自宅で自分なりに調べてみます。もちろん、皆さんのさらなるアドヴァイス、お待ちしております。

    ２つあるＲＡＩＤコントラーを
    ＢＩＯＳでは、ＩＤＥモードで
    ＶＩＡ／ＪＭｉｃｒｏｎを設定する。
    ためしにＶＩＡの方のシリアルＳＡＴＡ
    のコネクターで認識させてみては？

    JMicron JMB36Xはインストール上の
    の問題があるようです。

    明朝出勤したら dmesg を確認しながら、教えていただいた対処法を試して見ます。

    残念ですがまだインストールできません。

    ・ASUS マザーの BIOS はアップデートしました。IDE モードにできているようです。ただし JMicron の画面ではなにもドライヴは認識されません（これでOK？）。

    ・OS の起動オプションに
    > pci=nomsi
    もしくは
    > pci=routeirq
    を加えてみましたがハードディスクは認識されませんでした。


    /bin/dmesg; cat /proc/scsi/scsi の結果を次のコメントでコピーしてみます。

    それと筐体を開けて確認しましたが、ハードディスクは ASUS のほうの SATA に繋がっています。

    ここを見てもしや、と思い、Gparted-liveCD-0.3.3-5.isoを焼いて、起動してみました。そうすると SATA のハードディスクが認識されてパーティションも切ることができました。

    これで行けるかな？と ubuntu の CD から再起動してみましたが、また認識できません。ubuntu のインストール CD の Gparted をリプレースしなければならないのでしょうか？

    度々の御助言ありがとうございます。

    JMicron のほうに差し替えて HDD は BIOS レヴェルで認識できましたが、やはりカーネル・レヴェルでは駄目なようです。

    そこで一時避難用に別の IDE HDD を繋げてインストールを試みています。一旦、稼動する HDD に ubuntu を載せ、カーネルをアップデートした上で SATA HDD にインストールできないか試すためです。

    後ほど、結果を報告します。

    とりあえず一時的に IDE にインストールすることが出来ました。

    これでカーネルをアップデートできれば活路が開けるかと思いましたが、update-manager が開発版（7.04）をインストールしようとファイルをダウンロードするとき（「アップグレードの準備」）にエラーを起こして、アップデートできません。

    とりあえず暫定の状態で急場をしのいでアップグレードについては折を見て行うようにしたいと思います。
